Coron, Palawan 2011

It was my first time to travel out of Luzon Island (geographically) but historically Palawan is a part of the Luzon Territory. oh anyway, Trip to Coron maybe one of the most ultimate experiences. I was never dissapointed by its "beauty at its best".

April 24,Easter Sunday, (sadly, i was not with my family) was our first day. Honestly speaking, that was my first plane experience :p There are only two airlines that are based in Busuanga Airpot (Airphil Express, Cebu Pacific and Zest Airways) We booked Cebu Pacific. The Airport was quite small so it only accomodates small-engined aircraft.

The plane o took only 35 minutes off to Busuanga Airport and when it touched down the runway, we were like thrown away.. Umarte naman yung landing ha. Hahah! but when as I got out the aircraft. Wow, it's like I was using a nebulizer to breathe normally.Lol. Then we departed at 11a.m. When we get at the other site of the port, there were several airconditioned vans (150 Pesos per head) which would bring you to the Town Proper where the hotels are found. It would take you 30 mins but you wouldnt get bored when you see high cliffs of limestones sorrounding the road. As If we were in Africa.Busuanga Island is really amazing.

AT 11:45, we already checked in at Coron Village Lodge. The hotels there are not so amusing (like what you can see in Boracay) Their hotels are just like normal houses in Manila but most of them has airconditioning units.

We had our Luncheon at 12:30 so that we would be able to go Island hopping at 1:30p.m. Our first stop was Banol Beach, It's a small beach with Pure White Sand with sparkling pink granules. See it for yourself

It was like a mini Boracay but the difference is, it's very small and it's very silent. it only has three nipa hut for picnic. Banol beach is caretaken by Busuanga Tribe called "Tagbanua". You will have to pay 200 for the entrance.

Limestone formaion at its best. Those tiny dirt look a like were baby jelly fishes. Eww.

And two hours after, we"re off to Twin Lagoon. You would have to dive into 4 ft. deep hole that will lead you to the other side of the lagoon. Bad thing it was high tide so that the hole was underwater. Good thing was that it already had a wooden ladder so that those who do not know or "afraid" to dive might get into the other lagoon.

By 4:00pm the sun is beginning to set. THat"s why we rushed to Kayangan Lake which is considered as the frontliner mark of Coron.

Here it is,
This picture perfect scene is breath-taking. You'd have to trek through 200+ different steps which is very "nakakahingal" especially to those who do smoke. Hahah! When you get to this area, there is a small cave where you can take pictures overlooking the Kayangan. But the trek is not over. You"d have to trek down another 200 steps to get into the real Kayangan Lake which is considered as one of the cleanest lakes in the world.

Look,

Unfortunatey, it was already 5p.m. and the sunlight did not reflect onto the lake thats why the cleanliness and pristine colors of the lake were not visible but to tell you honestly, it is one of their best spots
.
AT 6pm, we went back to the town for a Natural Hotspring called "Maquinit Hot Spring. You could choose where'd you want to soak. From 40 degrees celsius to 45.

AT 8p.m. We hade our dinner and free time.

APRIL 25, 2011

2nd day. We had to wake up at 5 a.m. to start our trekking activity at Mount Tapyas.
It has 724 steps going to the top overlooking the town proper and Coron Island (Sleeping giant)
I felt really good when we encounter children playing in the streets and they would greet you a Goodmorning.ON the other side of the mountain, you would see twin Hills that look like Bohol Chocolate Hills. On the left side, you would see a lake that looks like Taal Lake

OVERLOOKING THE SLEEPING GIANT CORON ISLAND AND TOWN PROPER

THE BOHOL LIKE HILLS

We had our breakfast at the lodge. "Lamayo" is their specialty. It's a bisugo-like not-so-dried fish that is sauted in pepper for a day (uyy? chef?) HAHAH!

And we just had a two-hour rest and we're off to Island hopping again. Our first stop was the Sunken Shipwreck called "Lusong Gunboat. It can be reached within an hour and a half.

The sprite bottle is the indication of the shipwreck. One thing I noticed in Coron, the sea is not that wavy but the water current is strong.

The shallowest part of the ship was its nose where we could stand on it.

The next stop is the Coral Garden, This was one of the highlights of the tour. I was really amazed by the corals which are visible at four feet. I saw Nemo. )

We had our lunch at one of the most beautiful beaches in Coron, Pass Beach. It's near the Calomboyan Beach. It's the little brother of the most popular beach Malcapuya Island owned by the Reyes' of Coron.
