BORACAY 2011

I never thought that going to this paradise is as easy as "whatever it is" When I was a child, i only saw Boracay in pictures and thought that only rich people could go especially foreigners and celebrities so I'd rather never mind of it and just going to Subic, Cavite, Batangas or some cheap resorts in Rizal, Bulacan area with my family would already satisfy my vacation.

It was my first time to go in the world-renown white sand beach which is located in the province of Aklan. In  google maps, Boracay is situated at the northern tip pf Panay Island. The island looks like a bone. Regarding of my trip, it was first time to "solo flight" because my cousin already arrived the day before. I was supposed to be at the airport an hour or two before the 3:45 flight but that heavy traffic within the NAIA Road vicinity really screwed me up .I entered Terminal 3 at exactly 3 p.m. Oh Thank God, there were no long lines unlike before. There were also no long S lines at the Cebu Pacific Ticketing which could probably cause my delay. Oh I was really thankful that time. at 3:15 just 15 minutes, I was able to check in at the waiting area at the ground floor. Until we boarded the plane. I did not have any acquaintance and I sit, relaxed and slept throughout the one hour plane trip bound to Caticlan until I was advised by the attendant to sit up straight because the plane was preparing for a touchdown. The plane was circling for several minutes as if we were riding in a roller coaster until we touched down and the "crisis" was not yet over, the plane landed violently, i mean it had to brake immediately as if it were like a jeepney nearly hitting another vehicle. Uh-huh, the runway is too short for an allowance thingy.

I exited Caticlan Airport and I asked the where the tricylces bound for Jetty Port are found. Oh well I was just so "tanga" that time to ask that's why people  asked me to pay 80.00 just for a 5 minute ride. Anyway, I was rushing that time so I didnt mind it. In the jetty port. You'd have to pay 75,00 for the Environmental fee, 25.00 for the Termianl Fee and 20.00 for the boat ride bound for Boracay Island. It only took three minutes to get into the island but the trip is not yet over. You'd have to ride another tricycle to bring you to the hotels. for me, I only paid 10.00 to the driver to bring me to LA CARMELA DE BORACAY resort.

And I was really excited and I ran as fast as I could. I entered La Carmela and they were really not that strict to pax going in and out of their hotel. I proceed to room 237 and opened the door and I screamed as if I've not been seeing my cousins for a long time.

And I just had my shower and changed outfit to beach-y one. Hahaha. and then roamed around to meet Mike, a friend of mine who already arrived there two hours earlier. He was just having his dinner with my officemates (their hotel was at Station 1) it's too far from La Carmela. I told him to meet with my cousins at 11:30 p.m. at Epic. I wasnt able to take my dinner early, i just had a cup of Nissin Spicy Sea food brought by my cousins. We roamed around, took pictures and laughed out loud as we could.

Me, Ate Ona and Tita Leng.
Pointing to those two drunk foreigners. There were so bully. HAHAHA

Until we felt a little bit hungry. We then bought cups of rice and isaw and that one was really satisfying. It's as if more statisfying that those we eat in Jollibee, maybe because we had our dinner in the room, indian-sitting while watching TV. and we didnt notice the time, We were supposed to night out. at 11:30, we went to Epic and meet Mike (This club was great, the crowd was not that bad) but I guess they cater more expensive services and products. By the way, we just went there for the party so we decided to go to Guilly's at Station 1. The waves were really strong due to high tide and we had to walk though the waters just to get there. One thing I noticed, the sands in station 1 is much finer and whiter that those in Stations 2 and 3.

And PARTY PARTY the crowd in Guilly's was not good. There were few foreigners and most people in the dance floor were Boracay natives. :) I brought a glass of Kurant 7, (which Mike suggested to me) I was not familiar of the taste but I always saw it in the bar And it really tasted good but I'm a beergay eh? Hahaha!
We transfered to Club Paraw which i think is more popular than guilly"s (when we talk of Boracay) and well, The set up, crowd are way better than in Guillys. Lots of Koreans and Americans were party rocking on the dance floor, The DJ was at his booth overlooking the entire club.
Hannah, Ian and Mike Bekla.

Hannah, Ian and me

Club Paraw got the same setup but its ambiance was quite different (Maybe because there were lesser Boracay natives). I guess foreigners also noticed it. By the way, Paraw is adjacent to Guilly's. The music are the same. The DJ played mash-ups of RnB and Techno (like what we usually groove in Manila) but of course, Manila has more updated ones (not sarcastic) :p We danced in Katy Perry,. Lady Gaga and Kesha mashed up with Earth Wind and Fire (and that was cool) We danced on the white sand and that's winner. You could go clubbing just wearing your sando, board shorts and your simple flip flops. Bad thing is you cannot bring your cigs when youre in the middle of the dancefloor.

And then we decided to go back to hotel at 2:30 a.m. in Manila, that was way too early for us. :p but because of that long beach path we were about to "trek" , we decided to stop early and the the tide became higher, the waves were strong hitting the gutter of the establishments as if there was a storm and so we had no choice, we took off our flip flops and ran as fast as we could. It took about 20 minutes of walking just to reach La Carmela. You wouldnt even get tired and heartbeating and that's the benefit of breathing on a fresh air. We dropped Mike at Epic because he still wanted to Party. Okay it's up to you Beki!

THE NEXT DAY
It was very tiring last night, I woke up at 5:30 and sadly my cousins had to arrive early. Their flight was at 10:00 a.m. and they had to check out at 6 a.m. So I had no choice, had to wake up and transfer to other resorts. So I texted Mike. But before that I took pictures with cousins as if we were not going to see each other anymore LOL.

I waited for the Boracay Castle which was built at the front of La Carmela. They checked out and I brought them to the main road and was really saddened. I should have booked tickets that are fit to their schedule. :( anyway, I had to ride on a trike just to get to White Beach Hotel.

I just had rest for about 30 minutes by taking a nap. At 8:30 a.m. we hired a tricycle that would bring us to Mount Luho where we could see the entire Boracay Island from the top. I did not choose to hire ATV’s for it’s quite expensive and I don’t know how to ride on it :p It took about 10-15 minutes to get there, oh I assumed that trikes could go onto the top. HAHA. At the entrance of the trail, We had to pay 60.00. There were 100 steps and it was at least less difficult than Mount Tapyas in Coron which has 700+ steps (but that was for free) and as we get there, a mini zoo (as in mini) of species found in the Island is featured. We had to walk through bamboo pathway  that leads to the one of the most expensive ziplines in the world (called me OA but I guess that’s very expensive) Imagine being harnessed in a 300 meter long, and 100 meter high zipline would cost you 700 Pesos? That’s too much. I’m not a fanatic of ziplines but I knew that those in Tagaytay are way longer and higher but it only costs 250.00 (in December 2010) and we didn’t mind of it, we trailed to the highest peak of Boracay, in a wooden veranda look a like mountain top overlooking the Boracay Island. On the left is the Bulabog Beach. During September to Febuary when Habagat is active, this part of the Island is quiet. The water is calm so most water activities like helmet diving, parasailing, etc take place here while the Long White Beach has big waves (ah-huh kaya pala maalon sya kahit di naman umuulan)

On the Northern Side of the Island is the Lapuz-Lapuz Beach. The trike driver told us that ASAP already held a party there. That beach is exclusively owned by a hotel condominium – I forgot the name of that hotel) adjacent to Lapuz Lapuz was hidden by trees but Manong told us that Puka Beach is located there. (Don’t worry well go to that later)  and next to that beach is the Shang Boracay, one of the most expensive hotels on the island.
PUKA BEACH
Puka Beach is a public beach where natives could go swimming anytime they want. The sand is also not that white and it’s not finer but what is unique here is that we’re not actually standing on a usual sand but on a sand of ground  Puka Shells, Oh that’s it. But the beach is pristine. This area of the island is not commercialized.

BACK TO THE WHITE LONG BEACH
We went back to the hotel to have our lunch and sad, Mike has to go at 1p.m. He’d be picked up by his “dad”  but before he arrived, he treated us lunch at Andok’s D’Mall. After lunch, we decided to go swimming, he had not yet experienced the real Boracay since yesterday so it was. We took pictures at  Willy’s Rock more popularly known as Boracay Grotto.  Good thing it’s near our hotel. (anyway I forgot to tell, I don’t know if it’s a hotel or Apartelle) I’m not mean but to tell you the truth, I guess that’s the worst hotel in Boracay, imagine that aircon was not woking. Its only feature was a veranda overlooking the beach but unfortunately, due to the habagat, the beach pathwalk was covered by plastic chorvaness hung within coconut trees so we) Going back. We took pictures, fought with big waves and met foreigners HAHAHA.
At 1p.m. Mike was already picked up. The only ones left were officemates and I, They were booked for a parasailing at 2 p.m. I was just too sleepy and tired that time so I volunteered to stay at the hotel to watch TV and sleep. I slept for almost four hours and that was refreshing. I woke up at 5:15 and the sun was about to set. I left the Television open and the UAAP Cheerdance was on-going. I was in dilemma that time but because twitter is always there so I decided to go out, Unfortunately the sun set on the clouds and that was frustrating. I went back to hotel and watched Cheerdance.
We had our dinner buffet at somewhere there in front of D’MALL. For just P250.00 we had a not-so-wide variety of seafoods (shrimp, stimmed crabs, Pancit, Adobong Manok, Adobnong Baboy, Corn Soup, fruits, roasted chicken ) that’s all and I forgot, the Oyster. That’s the winner. But honestly, that was not satisfying. I didn’t have to make any protests because it was just a treat by my former officemate. (How lucky I was to have never paid for my meals since last night) HAHAHA
Oh so I still felt sleepy . My two officemates wanted to night out so I just told them to go to Club Paraw cuz I was sleepy and tired zzzz. But they wanted me to join and the only magic spell that unlocked the key to my sleepiness was the word “TREAT” hahaha I was just too "parasite"  that night to have been waiting for a libre but honestly, I was just sleepy so I asked them to rest for an hour and we’ll go.
